Lo-fi circa 2009 may be a micro-revival that won’t factor highly in the time capsule of music history, but somewhere in between the Hitachi tape decks and the earnest girl bands, there were some great bits.
Like Times New Viking, a band rescued from the gurning maws of inconsequence by actual songs and clever homespun videos. They were in town so JUKE invited them round to make weird collages out of old magazines show off their alt ink and give us bad tattoos that went septic and then disappeared. A lot like lo-fi… But is there such a thing as a bad tattoo?
We dunno…like, maybe?
