February 8, 2012 SOUNDS ⁄  JAMES BLAKE vs D’ANGELO

JAMES BLAKE vs D’ANGELO: As a tribute to “R&B Jesus”, or “Abs Jesus” as he’s known around his adoring fan harem, aka D’Angelo, James Blake has remix his 1999 collaboration with Methodman and Redman, thug-sex anthem, Left & Right.

Produced under Blake’s BET remix moniker, Harmonimix, it marks the beginning of  Grammy winner D’Angelo’s high-profile comeback tour and the end of an 11-year spell in the musical wilderness, a period where he didn’t make a single live performance – and ate too many carbs.

Blake debuted the edit in a recent appearance on Radio 1 and it sounds a lot like the original would, from the bottom of a k-hole, or the inside of D’Angelo’s head when he offered an undercover NYPD policewoman $40 for a blowie back in 2k10.
