March 1, 2012 SOUNDS ⁄  ITSNATE, DAWG.

Rising London rap honcho ItsNate follows up last year’s much-lauded mixtape with the appropriately-titled EP, Suede Jones Smooth Material. Its velvety verses are smoother than George Clooney wrestling a baby dolphin in vat of Vaseline, largely thanks to the subtle game-changing production by Budgie, Crankz and Dvo Treats. Described as ‘wave-rap’, its sparse post-dubstep influences make it a homegrown equivalent to the chillwave-inspired beats by Clams Casino and Ty Beats on an A$AP mix.
